After a complicated situation faced by the U.S. Embassy in Venezuela, which resulted in the suspension of visa applications, the embassy announced that the application process will be available again but for a limited number of individuals.

All those who made the payment for their appointment on or before May 18, 2016 will benefit from this measure.

The information was announced on the embassy’s Twitter account. The tweet also contained a

The appointments had been suspended on May 18th due to lack of personnel to perform the procedures.

The U.S. embassy argues that the government of Nicolas Maduro has refused for months to give visas to its staff to come to work in Venezuela. This has made the processing of travel documents impossible. However, they are still receiving applications.
